The debut of my new radio show on Echobox in Amsterdam is now available on Mixcloud for your listening pleasure, but consider yourself forewarned that it absolutely smokes. People say that Cleveland rocks, but what it really does even more consistently is smoke. This is a total face-melter from Cleveland for the rest of the planet. Possibly the greatest success of this first episode is that Scott Krauss (Pere Ubu, Home and Garden) now sends me links to regional pirate radio happening around the Land and obscure documents like what you see below here.
The next episode drops this Sunday, the fourth of June, 10am Land Time and 4pm ‘Dam Time, as per usual. We’re going to explore the cutting edge radio culture in Northeast Ohio that ensured the region would become the cradle of the future of rock music and that the cultural transition from the ’60s to the ’70s would go down here.
