Bush Tetras Box Set Feature

This week, I got to see my first feature for Bandcamp go live! I was honored to be selected to write about the Bush Tetras box set and even more honored to get to describe my hometown of Cleveland accurately as an “art punk mecca” feeding directly into the NYC scene in the late 70s and early 80s. 💓🙏🐦🎶 ✍

Getting to interview these legends was so surreal that I avoided transcribing it for two weeks, just because it is so weird and exciting and difficult to process that this is my reality: talking to and writing about legends and legends in the making. I am super grateful for the editors at Bandcamp for selecting me for this assignment, the band and the label for working with me to make an interview happen despite Dee Pop’s sudden death five days before I was supposed to interview all of them, Marc Masters for writing the book that deeply informed my piece, and Brian Case for lending me his copy of it!
